FMEA and FEA of Car Seat System: Internship TATA Motors Ltd. Crash Testing Facility

A car seat design is evaluated for real world safety environment. Every mechanical design has to be evaluated for robustness and safety margins. This is due to the different loading conditions the design shall be subjected to during its life cycle. Proper design calculations ensure that the number of failures and failure modes are well understood and classified. In this project a car seat system design has been evaluated for Failure Modes using techniques like fishbone diagram, boundary diagram and FEA. Primary failure modes evaluated are mechanical , electrical, chemical and environmental.
