Project | Electro-active Polymer based Actuator Design
Biomimetic design based on inspiration from nature for solutions for engineering problems has been practiced throughout human history. Invertebrate animals without a skeletal structure have flexible, robust and agile movements. Inspired by octopus arm, in this thesis are investigated different design concepts and requirements for using dielectric electro-active polymers (EAP) for designing of flexible actuators and manipulators.
